B. Scoba
March 11 - April 15

B. Scoba, an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores belief systems, self identity, and material obsolescence. B employs the use of elusive memory, channeling a family heirloom shadowbox made by his grandmother.

Using this archetype, B distorts the memory of the shadowbox to create new objects and structures giving them permanence through the firing and glazing process. The ceramic forms are then given personal ephemera, found or made by the artist in their daily happenings. These collections then become reprogrammed histories for the artist to materialize new belief and sense of self.
